I'm Sick of the Race Card
As most of you know Congressman Joe Wilson spoke up last week and told America that President Obama lied. He's right! That is just the beginning of this horrible healthcare bill. Now they are trying to say Joe Wilson and those that are against the healthcare bill or other policies of President Obama are racist. What does that have to do with it? The real answer is NOTHING! I am sick and tired of everyone playing the race card. A bad policy is a bad policy. What about how President Obama said that the police "acted stupidly" when they questioned someone breaking into their home or when Nancy Pelosi said that people at the tea parties were Nazis. They are the ones bad mouthing and not acting as public officials should. And of course, the media is so in love with Obama that they just love talking about how people that go to TEA Parties are racist. I went to them, does that make me a racist? Why don't they cover something that matters like ACORN helping hookers and pimps, but that is a whole other story. And Congress needs to quit wasting their time and OUR money by debating resolutions to chastise Joe Wilson for standing up. I sent Joe Wilson a contribution on his website and encourage you to do the same. Go to his website and support someone that actually stands up for you. I know this post is all over the place but I am sick of all this government lying.

"Flag Yourself"
As most of you already know, President Obama has asked that we citizens turn each other in for providing "misinformation" regarding his healthcare plan. We a bunch of us are "flagging" ourselves. I got this great letter from www.houstontps.org that they encourage you to send to flag@whitehouse.gov and turn yourself in. I did it! Now I am asking you to do the same. Copy over the following statement and email it to flag@whitehouse.gov. Have fun!
I am flagging myself because I do not believe the typical spin of the Left when it comes to the current health care legislation, and I understand economics well enough to recognize a plan that defies all economic principles.
I am flagging myself because, as Hillary Clinton said, “I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.”
I am flagging myself because I love and support the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, and the country that results from them, and I believe that those documents, not the whims of men, should govern our nation.
I am flagging myself because I believe that government of the people, by the people, and for the people requires us to stand up in opposition whenever we believe it has gone off track.
I am flagging myself because I am not afraid to stand up and say what I believe to anyone, including anyone in power in the administration.
I am flagging myself because if Congress and the Administration will not listen to the voice of the people, we will make our voices louder, starting with me.
I am flagging myself because I don’t get my information solely from the media’s administration-fed talking points, nor do I get it solely from pundits who closet themselves with officials to decide on the best spin on the news of the day.
I am flagging myself because I am an independent thinker, and will not swallow everything without skepticism.
I am flagging myself because I am an American.
I am flagging myself because I believe in this country.
I am flagging myself so that other people will join me in standing up and speaking out.
I am flagging myself because I love this country.

Free Speech On "Free" Health Care
Are you kidding me? The truth is coming out about Obama's Health care Program including the following points:
1.) What exactly is "end of life counseling"? It sounds like you wouldn't want to give my grandma proper treatment because it wouldn't be cost effective.
2.) What about abortion? Since abortion is legal does that mean I would be forced to fund it under this plan? Will I continue to have a choice to NOT have my wife get an abortion or will it be decided that it is more cost effective for her to have an abortion to further CONTROL MY LIFE?
3.) If you are going to tell me what health care choice I need to make will you also tell me that I can't have candy or soda? Where will it stop?
4.) If you say that those with current health care will not have to switch unless their plan changes? I have never heard of a plan that didn't change. Wouldn't that make employers cancel health care plans to cut costs since the economy will further go down with the taxes that will surely increase to fund this?
5.) Since health care makes up 1/7 of the total economy, what will happen to all of the jobs lost, yes lost, due to the "single payor" program you are proposing? Less people will want to get into the industry and therefore increasing those that want to work with the same amount of jobs available (again less jobs, higher unemployment).
6.) If they can't manage "Cash for Clunkers" or anything else (including Social Security) how are they going to manage this, and more importantly within budget? Obama's plan, "SAVE MILLIONS BY SPENDING TRILLIONS"! Maybe it is just the accountant in me or just logic or even simple math, it doesn't work.
7.) How is going to a government run health care program going to reduce health care costs or increase quality, you take out choice the very thing that helps ensure these things? Also, some "uninsured" don't want insurance. Why should we take away choice? What about illegals? Will this plan continue to fund medical treatment for those who are here illegally? I do thing it is the human thing to do by providing emergency care to call, but it looks like we are openning it up to dental and vision as well.
8.) If this health care program is so great why don't the politicians agree to change to this program? I know why, because it is the worse program ever!
Just a few of the questions that should be asked AFTER YOU READ THE BILL, since that seems to be the biggest issue here. If you don't even read a bill how can you say what it does and doesn't do. President Obama wants you to inform him now if you know of someone that is giving "misinformation" about his plan. What happened to the First Amendment? Did Obama not read the Constitution either? So I guess by writing this I am on the list. Oh well, if I am counted as one that stood up for freedom and liberty during this time of tyranny then so be it! Call and write you congressmen and senators! Now is your chance to speak out and stop this wasteful spending.

Socialism 101
An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class.--------------------------------------------That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, "OK,we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D!No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.Could not be any simpler than that.
If somebody is unable to understand THIS explanation, I have serious doubts about their ability to even function in society, much less run our country! As the late Adrian Rogers said, "you cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.."

What's wrong with being a white male?
The answer to this question should be "nothing" but all too often it seems to be everything. It all started in the presidential elections. President Obama kept bringing it up, stating that he "didn't look like the guy on the dollar bill". I never saw John McCain talking about it only him. Even Bill Clinton pointed out that "he played the race card" on them. No one seems to care if minorities make racist comments about white males. The most recent case is with Judge Sonia Sotomayor. She made the following statement at Berkeley yet everyone keeps defending her that she isn't:
Whether born from experience or inherent physiological or cultural differences, a possibility I abhor less or discount less than my colleague Judge Cedarbaum, our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging. Justice O'Connor has often been cited as saying that a wise old man and wise old woman will reach the same conclusion in deciding cases. I am not so sure Justice O'Connor is the author of that line since Professor Resnik attributes that line to Supreme Court Justice Coyle. I am also not so sure that I agree with the statement. First, as Professor Martha Minnow has noted, there can never be a universal definition of wise. Second, I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn't lived that life. (Sonia Sotomayor, http://www.law.berkeley.edu/4982.htm))
What about that statement is not racist? She finds herself more qualified than a white male solely based on race and gender. I don't think it is okay for a white male to make the statement about his race and gender so what makes it okay to say about a minority? There shouldn't be! There is no such thing as "reverse racism" just racism. If she is so qualified to be a justice on the Supreme Court then why can't she get past race and show judgement and principles as qualifications? Oh, that's right the Supreme Court has actually overturned her opinions 5 out of 6 times so there goes the qualifications. Racism still exists in this country even with a black president. I am just starting to believe that it is becoming the white male who is becoming the victim of it. If race shouldn't disqualify you for something then why should it qualify you for another?

Sonia Sotomayor
Send your senator a message to vote against nominating Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. We may not get a choice we want but that doesn't mean we should rollover and agree with everything he does because he currently has the votes. Below is what I sent my senators.
I am contacting you regarding the appointment by President Obama of Sonia Sotomayor. I realize any choice by President Obama will probably not be anyone I would agree with as a conservative but I specifically worry about her as the nominee primarily for the following reasons. First of which is that she has shown through the years that she does not follow the Constitution. Her verticts have been reversed many times in the past, including a current one being reviewed by the Supreme Court now. The ones reviewing these cases are not conservatives just trying to put politics into it but her own fellow democrats. Secondly, justice is blind. She has stated that she will give a different view of situations based on the fact she is a minority. The law show not be interpreted based on your race, color, sex, or religion. It should be based on principles and values. Those principles that are specificly stated in the Constitution. Finally, we do not need someone that has stated in public that it is exceptible to legislate from the bench. That is your job and it is my job to voice those principles and values that should be the foundations of new legislation. Thank you for continuing to fight for conservative principles in Washington and representing Texas and what Texans want.

Pro-Choice vs. Pro-Life
Over the past few weeks abortion has become a hot topic again in America. I wanted to add my opinion to the list. Just to start off if there is any question where I stand on abortion it is just plain wrong. I want to take a little different approach to how we use the terms "pro-life" and "pro-choice". Women should have the right to choose. They can choose who they hang out with, who they are alone with, and in this case, who they sleep with! In cases where women have made this choice they should not be given the "choice" of their "consequences". I use the word consequence only to point out that pregnancy is only a result of a choice it is not a choice in itself. Just like when you are a child you are taught that if you do certain things that you will receive certain consequences, good or bad. This topic is even more sensitive to me as my wife and I have not been able to have children and are seeking a child to adopt. I realize that women become pregnant all the time and do not want their children, but killing their baby is not the answer. There are many couples willing to adopt their child and raise them as their own. There is a new ad put out by Catholic Vote (Click HERE to view) which to me points out how important adoption is. The President spoke at Notre Dame this past weekend and pointed out the debate about abortion. He said, "So let's work together to reduce the number of women seeking abortions by reducing unitended pregnancies, and making adoption more avaiable, and providing care and support for women who do carrry their child to term". I wasn't aware that he had such a well mannered approach to the debate. I have only seen his voting record (which matters more coming from the "Walking Teleprompter") where he voted to support partial-birth abortions. Or where he said that if one of his daughters got pregnant he would not want them to be "punished with a child". I have never seen a single pregnant woman refused at a hospital to deliver her child. I never knew there was a list of willing mothers to give babies up for adoption and no list of potential famlies to adopt them. I only know of the long lists of potenial adoptive couples looking to find a child they can call their own. Let's help potential adoptive couples find birth mothers and counsel those who may not want their children to adopt. Let's do "reduce the number of unintended pregnancies", let's teach ABSTANANCE in school and especially at home. Let's teach our daughters to respect themselves and equally important teach our sons to respect women. Teach them to have moral values and to stand up for them.

Opposition vs. Alternatives
Below is a copy of the message I sent my congressman urging him to stand up and provide clear alternatives to all of this precived success. Note: My representative luckily happens to be a true conservative and not a R.I.N.O. Please contact your representative and ask them to stand up. We all stood up at the T.E.A. parties, we now need all of our representitives to do the same. They need to join together and stand up with clear alternative solutions to today's problems. To the right you will find links to find the contact information of your local representative. Call them, write them, and then do it all over again!
I am contacting you in regards to President Obama's first one-hundred days in office. I feel now is the time to stand up. I know you, and others, have stood up against all of the bailouts and spending. I know you have supported alternative budgets and solutions. I was at the T.E.A. Party when we all stood up to say enough is enough. We need you to continue to voice positive, clear, conservative alternatives to these measures. As President Obama's poll indicates that people "like" him even though they don't agree with his policies it is time to stand boldly up and voice conservative principles. I realize that the media chooses to cover what they want but if enough conservative politicans stand up and voice alternatives not just opposition the 2010 elections will be positively affected. I find the biggest problem with politics is that preception too often is more important than reality. Currently it is precived, by the media, that President Obama is watching out for the average American and that the Republicans are just attacking him. We need to be bold and clear about our message. Thank you again for your service to your district. Please continue to be a voice of alternatives to all of this liberal spending.

Only 100 Days?
Well, everyone is starting to talk about the 100 day mark for President Obama. Many people say by that point you can start to measure success. Here are the highlights I remember from those first 100 days...Bailouts, bailouts, and more bailouts. Obama has spent more time discussing how he has inherited the recession from Bush than actually fixing it, in fact every day he talks about more spending. Yes, Bush was wrong to start the bailout game, but this is not a fight with your little brother and it is not going to work telling the American people what you told your parents, "Well, he started it!" It didn't work then and it will not work now. You cannot spend billions and trillions and say you are going to cut the budget by millions. Is math not required to get a law degree? Congress you are even worse...you push to get a bill signed that is over 1,000 pages and you don't even read it? Thank you to the conservative members of congress that stood up against the pork. Obama talked all about transparency and how We the people would have days to review any law before he signed it to give input. Lies! Tax cheats...how did they ever even get nominated? Does everyone forget about Joe the Plumber? He owed back taxes and just ask a simple HONEST question and was torn up by the media, double standard? We stood up at the T.E.A. Parties and said enough is enough and what did Washington do? Labeled us as “right-wing terrorists” and told everyone to watch out for us. Now at the 100 day mark all the media is talking about it is polls. High poll numbers will not fix the economy, principles will! Washington, no more bailouts, no more lies. Lower taxes, stop being hypocrites telling us that we need to spend less and be more responsible and start doing that yourself!

Blog "Features"
As you have probably noticed I am working on some of the blog "features". Yes, I plan to vent on this blog, like the fact that Obama wants his Cabinet to cut $100 million dollars out of the budget, that is a joke. So he adds BILLIONS and wants to cut MILLIONS. To me that is still a budget INCREASE. He probably doesn't know how to use Turbo Tax either, as he apparently doesn't understand simple math. Back to the features...Along the left I have quotes from people that apply more than ever today. Along the right I have links to contact your representative, as they answer to YOU, not the other way around. Below that is links to other websites that I believe have important messages. I might add a link to a T-shirt store (maybe even my own if I set one up) where you can buy conservative "gear". More to come...

As you can probably tell, I am sick and tired of government telling me and everyone else what WE want. Well, we DON'T want HIGHER spending, MORE bailouts, or HIGHER taxes. We DO want MORE responsiblity, LOWER taxes, and LESS debt. I have gotten involved a little bit in the past, but a line in the sand has been drawn. I, with many others, have stood up and NO MORE! I was at the Houston T.E.A. Party and plan to continue to get involved to promote thoses who UPHOLD the Constitution. Although Obama will be around until 2012, in 2010 we are going to clean House! This blog is dedicated to promoting conservative ideas that promote freedom and other priniciples that our country was founding on. My first plea is for everyone to get educated then get involved. Search out those who uphold the values and principles you have and support them. Give them money, give them time to help kick out those politicians who have put us in the situation we are in today! It is time for the majority to speak up and be counted. We owe this to those who have fought for the freedoms we have and those children that we love and want to enjoy the same.
